Pure Storage Raises FY Guidance After 3Q Rev Growth

Pure Storage raised its guidance for the full year after the company posted higher revenue across its business units.

The Santa Clara, Calif.-based data storage firm said Tuesday it now sees full-year revenue of between $3.63 billion and $3.64 billion, up from previous guidance between $3.6 billion and $3.63 billion.

Analysts polled by FactSet were expecting $3.62 billion in revenue for the year.

Pure Storage also posted a third-quarter profit of $54.8 million, or 16 cents a share, down from $63.6 million or 19 cents a share, a year earlier, as operating expenses rose across the board.

Adjusted earnings were 58 cents a share, meeting the expectations of analysts polled by FactSet.

Revenue rose to $964.5 million, compared with $831.1 million a year earlier. Analysts were expecting $955.9 million in revenue, and the company had guided for revenue between $950 million and $960 million.

Pure Storage saw revenue growth in both product revenue and subscription services. Product revenue grew to $534.8 million, up from $454.7 million a year earlier. Subscription revenue was $429.7 million, up from $376.3 million a year earlier.

The company forecast revenue in the current fourth quarter between $1.02 billion and $1.04 billion. Analysts are expecting $1.02 billion in revenue.
