ANZ Group Holdings Limited reported that ANZ-Indeed Australian Job Ads declined by 0.8 per cent month-on-month in November, following a revised 1.9 per cent decline in October. The trend series showed a 1.3 per cent month-on-month decrease in November. Job ads have now fallen for five consecutive months, with an annual decline of 6.3 per cent and decreases recorded in seven of the last eight months. The unemployment rate returned to 4.3 per cent in October, after rising to 4.5 per cent the previous month. Employment increased by 42,200 in October, and the underemployment rate remained low at 5.7 per cent. The largest job ad declines were observed in Victoria, while Western Australia continued to outperform national trends. Software development job ads increased in November and remain higher than a year ago.
