Celcomdigi's (KLSE:CDB) units secured spectrum assignments from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), according to a Monday Malaysian bourse filing.

The assignments are for 2x5 megahertz (MHz) in the 1800 MHz band and 2x20 MHz in the 2600 MHz band, effective Nov. 30.

The company has made upfront payments of 292.5 million ringgit, and will commit cumulative annual payments of 120 million ringgit over the respective assignment periods.

The 1800MHz band assignment runs until June 30, 2032, while the 2600MHz band assignment is valid until June 30, 2027.

The spectrum will support enhanced network capacity and customer experience, the communications conglomerate and mobile service provider said.
