Consumer stocks were mixed premarket Monday, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) up 0.1% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) 0.6% lower.
Somnigroup International (SGI) said it has proposed an all-stock deal to buy Leggett & Platt (LEG) for $12 a share, valuing the target at a 30.3% premium to its 30-day average price. Shares of Somnigroup were inactive, while shares of Leggett & Platt were up more than 11% pre-bell.
