Novo Nordisk (NVO) is preparing to launch its diabetes drug Ozempic in India in December, Reuters reported Thursday, citing three sources familiar with the matter.

The company aims to introduce Ozempic before generic drugmakers release cheaper versions, one of the sources told the news agency, adding that the launch could come within three to four weeks.

Novo Nordisk hopes to launch Ozempic in that market as early as possible, but didn't provide a firm timeline or pricing details, Reuters reported, citing the drugmaker.

Novo Nordisk didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
