Equinor, Aker BP Report New North Sea Oil, Gas Discoveries

Equinor (EQNR) and partner Aker BP have made a new gas and condensate find in Norway's North Sea with estimated recoverable volumes of 30 million to 110 million barrels of oil equivalent, Aker said Friday.

The Lofn and Langemann wells were drilled between the Gudrun and Eirin fields close to the Sleipner A platform, and the partners are assessing options to utilize existing infrastructure, the company said.

The Omega Alfa oil discovery in the Yggdrasil area, with estimated recoverable volumes of 96 million to 134 million barrels of oil equivalent and ownership stakes of between 38% and 48% in three licences, Aker BP said.

The company estimates the Kjottkake oil and gas discovery in the Troll-Gjoa area holds 39 million to 75 million barrels of oil equivalent and has raised its stake there to 45% following a deal with Japex, it said.

Operatorship of Kjottkake will transfer to Aker BP for the development phase, and the partners are aiming for first oil in 2028, the company added.
