Kloeckner & Co confirmed it is in talks for a potential voluntary public takeover for all its shares with U.S. metals processor Worthington Steel.

The German metals company over the weekend said that Worthington Steel is conducting a due diligence review with the aim of a potential takeover of Kloeckner & Co.

"It is currently uncertain whether or under which conditions a potential voluntary public takeover offer will be pursued", Kloeckner & Co said.
