0952 ET - Lovesac CEO Shawn Nelson says that the furniture category is seeing slight improvements, posting low- to mid-single digit declines as of late, compared with mid-single digit declines a few months ago. "That said," he says on a call with analysts Thursday, "the weakness has become more pronounced for us in the lower dollar volume transactions, say below $6,000." This weakness led to softer-than-expected sales during the recent quarter. Though, Nelson says the company has already adjusted its marketing and promotional strategies to better position its lower-priced products. These adjustments resulted in encouraging Black Friday and Cyber Monday holidays, he adds. Lovesac sinks 8%. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
