Safran SA has opened a new facility in Singapore dedicated to the production and maintenance of aerospace electrical systems. The plant, employing 70 people, manufactures and maintains power conversion and distribution equipment, as well as batteries for major customers including Airbus, Boeing, ATR, Singapore Airlines, Air China, and Japan Airlines. The facility has received approvals from key aeronautical authorities such as the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, and the Federal Aviation Administration. This expansion strengthens Safran Electrical & Power's presence in the regional aerospace electrical sector and follows the transfer of electrical activities from Thales in Singapore after their acquisition in October 2023. Safran's investment underscores its commitment to innovation and its strategic focus on the Asia Pacific aerospace market.
