Eaton Corporation plc announced plans to deliver a clean energy microgrid for the new Manchester Public Library in Connecticut. The project will incorporate 370 kilowatts of solar photovoltaics, battery energy storage, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Eaton will provide electrical infrastructure, engineering services, and return on investment modeling. The initiative aims to help the library maximize onsite solar consumption, export excess electricity to support grid stability, and reduce electricity costs. The project is supported by federal tax credits, state and local funding, and incentives from the Energy Storage Solutions program overseen by the Connecticut Green Bank, Eversource, and United Illuminating Company. Completion is scheduled for 2026, with the goal of achieving zero net energy ready status.
