Panasonic Holdings (TYO:6752) is facing setbacks in building new growth businesses, with the launch of its consumer-focused AI app Umi pushed back and a household support service set to end in January, Nikkei reported Tuesday.

Umi, unveiled at CES last year as a pillar of Panasonic's AI strategy, will not launch as planned, Group CEO Yuki Kusumi said, without giving a revised timetable, according to the report.

Separately, Panasonic will shut down Yohana, a household support app launched in the United States in 2021, on Jan. 30, citing a review of the business environment, the report said.
