Adds detailed purchase breakdown, price estimates

HAMBURG, Dec 19 (Reuters) - A South Korean flour mill group bought an estimated 50,000 metric tons of milling wheat earlier this week to be sourced from the United States, European traders said on Friday.

The purchase was in addition to 20,800 tons of U.S.-origin wheat also bought this week by another South Korean milling group.

The 50,000-ton purchase involved several different wheat types and was all bought on a free on board (FOB) basis for shipment between April 1 and April 30, 2026.

The seller was believed to be trading house ADM ADM.N.

The purchase involved 24,645 tons of soft white wheat of between 9.5% and 11% protein content bought at an estimated $226.56 a ton FOB and 1,870 tons of soft white wheat of a maximum 9.5% protein content bought at an estimated $237.58 a ton FOB, traders said.

It also included 9,930 tons of hard red winter wheat of 11.5% minimum protein bought at $242.46 a ton FOB and 13,555 tons of dark northern spring wheat of a minimum 14% protein bought at $268.83 a ton FOB, traders said.

Reports reflect assessments from traders and further estimates of prices and volumes are still possible later.
