Tabcorp Holdings (ASX:TAH) said that it is aware that Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) ceased to be the company's substantial shareholder on Monday, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.
The company's constitution restricts an individual from having a greater than 10% voting power in the company without written consent from the New South Wales Government, the filing said.
TAH may refuse to register or transfer the shares which would contravene the restrictions, the filing added.
Macquarie became a substantial holder on Dec. 12 with a 5.06% voting power, a Wednesday filing showed.
Shares of the company rose 4% in recent Friday trade while shares of Macquarie Group rose past 1%.
