A business jet crashed while landing at an airport in North Carolina Thursday morning, according to authorities.

The Cessna C550 plane crashed at Statesville Regional Airport, roughly 40 miles north of Charlotte, around 10:20 a.m. local time, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The corporate jet typically has the capacity to carry between six to eight people. Authorities have yet to confirm how many people were onboard.

The airport provides corporate aviation facilities for Fortune 500 companies and several Nascar teams, according to its website.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
