Gevo Inc. announced that its North Dakota facility has received an "A" rating from BeZero Carbon Ltd., an independent global carbon rating agency. The rating applies to Gevo’s carbon dioxide removal credits generated through carbon capture and storage at the facility. According to the company, the site sources most of its corn feedstock locally and utilizes the Verity platform for measuring, reporting, and verifying sustainable agricultural practices. The facility issues carbon dioxide removal certificates (CORCs) under the Puro.earth standard, with credits recognized for thousand-year permanence through geological storage. Gevo stated that the upgraded rating is expected to enhance the value of its credits and support transparency and integrity in its carbon removal operations.
