Stock futures were rising Thursday ahead of U.S. inflation data.

These stocks were poised to make moves Thursday:

Micron Technology surged 11% ahead of the opening bell. The memory-chip maker crushed Wall Street's first-quarter earnings targets, and issued strong guidance. The results could reassure investors who are jumpy about bloated artificial-intelligence valuations, although concerns remain about Big Tech companies' huge spending commitments. Sandisk also got a boost from the earnings report, with shares in the fellow memory chip maker rising 5.8% in premarket trading.

Lululemon Athletica added 5.8%. Elliott Investment Management has built a stake of over $1 billion in the athletic apparel retailer and supports former Ralph Lauren executive Jane Nielsen as a CEO candidate, a person familiar with the matter told Barron's. Lululemon didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

Insmed slumped 20% after the pharma company ended development of a sinus drug following a failed study.

Rivian Automotive rose 3.6% to $18.26 after the maker of electric vehicles was upgraded to Outperform from Neutral at Baird and the price target was boosted to $25 from $14. The analysts noted that the company's launch of its mid-sized SUV, R2, is expected in 2026.

PayPal was downgraded to Underweight from Equal Weight at Morgan Stanley. The analysts dropped their price target to $51 from $74. Shares of the payments company declined 1.9% to $59.06.

Lennar dropped 1.9% to $110.12, having slipped 4.5% on Wednesday following a fourth-quarter earnings miss. RBC Capital Markets downgraded the home builder to Underperform from Sector Perform, cutting its price target to $95 from $106.

IT consultancy Accenture, used-car retailer CarMax, restaurant operator Darden Restaurants, shipping company FedEx, homebuilder KB Home, and sportswear giant Nike are scheduled to report earnings on Thursday.
