Environmental Clean Technologies (ASX:ECT) completed the acquisition of all the issued shares in energy storage firm Terrajoule, which holds the rights to William Marsh Rice University's flash joule heating technology, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.
The technology will be utilized in the remediation of soil contaminated by per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances and/or heavy metals, the filing said.
Consideration for the transaction includes the issuance of 73.3 million shares and 66.7 million performance rights to the vendors of Terrajoule, per the filing.
Shares rose 13% in afternoon trade on Wednesday.
