European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Gain Friday

European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were rising on Friday morning, up 1.6% to 1,704.80 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by semiconductor companies ASML (ASML), STMicroelectronics (STM), and Sequans Communications (SQNS), which rose 9.3%, 6.3% and 6.2%, respectively.

They were followed by pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk (NVO), which was up 2.2%.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by clinical-stage immuno-oncology company Genenta Science (GNTA) and advertising company Criteo (CRTO), which fell 6% and 2.7%, respectively.

They were followed by software company SAP (SAP), which was down 2.5%.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Mereo BioPharma (MREO) and semiconductor company Arm (ARM), which rose nearly 9% and 4.5%, respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by commercial-stage biotechnology company Trinity Biotech (TRIB) and educational publishing company Pearson (PSO), which shed 6% and 2.5% respectively.
