Consumer stocks were mixed premarket Friday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) retreating marginally and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) gaining 0.9%.

Tesla (TSLA) shares were 1.3% higher ahead of the company's expected release of Q4 delivery data.
