Silex Systems (ASX:SLX) said the US Department of Energy (DOE) has selected Global Laser Enrichment, the exclusive licensee of the SILEX uranium enrichment technology, for the up to $28 million award to advance the technology, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.

The licensee was not selected by the US DOE for a $900 million award under the Low Enriched Uranium Request for Proposals, the filing said.
