Exxaro Tiles (NSE:EXXARO, BOM:543327) has installed a 3.8 MW DC solar power project in the Indian state of Gujarat, according to a Thursday filing to the Indian stock exchanges.
The solar project has been set up on leased land for 25 years and 11 months and is aimed at captive consumption for the company's manufacturing unit at Padra in Gujarat.
With this solar plant, the company estimates a 30% reduction in energy costs, amounting to around 35 million Indian rupees per annum. At present, the Parda unit consumes around 11 million electricity units annually.
The company's shares were up nearly 1% in recent trade.
