ASEAN's manufacturing activity eased slightly in December 2025, according to a report released by S&P Global on Monday.

The S&P Global ASEAN Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index slid to 52.7 in December from 53 in November, indicating slower but continued expansion during the month.

Although growth momentum eased slightly from November - with slower increases in output and new orders - both indicators still showed strong expansion.

Furthermore, employment rose, but the rate of job creation was modest, the fastest since February.

On the price front, input costs rose sharply, with inflation staying close to November's pace. Selling price inflation was unchanged and remained modest, S&P said.

Looking ahead, manufacturers across the region remained optimistic, expecting output growth over the coming year.

The survey covers manufacturers in Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
