Enterprise Products Partners (EPD) was Smart Insider's stock pick of the week after director John Rutherford acquired $481,000 worth of company shares at $32.09 apiece on Dec. 29.

This was "another large purchase" by Rutherford as he holds a good overall record as a buyer, and this was the "highest" price he has paid for the stock, Smart Insider said in a Tuesday note.

Smart Insider ranked the stock +1 on July 30 based on the director's acquisition of a similar size at $31.35 per share, according to the note.

The director now owns $6 million company shares and it is "interesting" to see him making another large buy, the note said.

Smart Insider renewed the stock to +1, or strong positive signal, on Dec. 30.
