Heineken's CEO Departing Isn't Surprising -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
01/12

0833 GMT - The departure of Heineken's CEO isn't surprising given the brewer's underperformance compared to peers for years, RBC Capital Markets analysts write. Dolf van den Brink was appointed with high expectations but has failed to deliver on them, they say. Van den Brink was appointed in June 2020. "We believe Heineken is now doing the right thing for its business, with improved expectations management and capital allocation, but execution remains unconvincing," the analysts say. Still, Heineken's strategy remains the right one, they say. Shares fall 2.1% to 68.38 euros.(adam.whittaker@wsj.com)
