Bromat Serves Statutory Demand Following Non-Payment of Subsidiary Acquisition Cost

Bromat (SGX:9I7) served a statutory demand by way of substituted service to Chia Shu Sian, in connection with claims of an outstanding balance of around SG$1.0 million for the completion of the disposal of 60% subsidiary, Dining Haus.

Chia, the purchaser, is.

The outstanding amount includes the principal amount, accrued interest and other charges, according to a Friday filing with the Singapore Exchange.

Chia is required to make the payment within 21 days, or an application within 14 days, in order to avoid the company filing a bankruptcy petition against him.

This comes after the company had agreed with Chia, the chief executive officer of Dining Haus, to dispose of its entire 60% stake in the subsidiary for SG$1.2 million. The conditional sale and purchase agreement was initially signed in April 2025.
