Soon Hock Enterprise's Dividend, Share Buybacks Seen Boosting Confidence -- Market Talk

Dow Jones

0522 GMT - Soon Hock Enterprise's dividend payout target and share buybacks likely provide a confidence boost for investors in the Singapore industrial property company's shares, says Maybank Securities' Toh Xuan Hao in a note. The company has a "clear capital-return framework" with a 25% payout target for 2025-2026, which implies a 2026 dividend yield, he says. Soon Hock's executive chair has also bought back about 10% of the company's free-float shares, which shows commitment to shareholder value creation, the analyst says. He also likes the company for its established track record in industrial-property development and a healthy project pipeline, which supports near-to-medium term profitability. Maybank Securities starts coverage of Soon Hock with a buy rating and S$0.75 target price. Shares are down 0.8% at S$0.625. (megan.cheah@wsj.com)
