Shares of Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST) rose about 3% in Tuesday trade, while Evolution Mining (ASX:EVN) and Newmont (ASX:NEM) each gained 1%, as gold surged past $4,600 an ounce amid strong investor demand for safe-haven assets, fueled by uncertainty over the Trump administration's scrutiny of USFederal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell.
Spot gold rose 2.2% to $4,609.58 per ounce, earlier hitting a record high of $4,629.94.
