Ju Teng International (HKG:3336) is investigating a cyber breach after becoming aware of the sale of its supposed data on the dark web, according to a Hong Kong bourse filing Thursday.
Shares of the notebook casing maker jumped over 8% in late morning Friday.
The firm said the purported data was made available for sale following a cyberattack on certain laptops of the company.
The company plans to hire a cybersecurity consultancy firm to judge the extent of the unauthorized access and compromised data, it said.
