J.B. Hunt Transport Services struck a cautionary note in its call with analysts Thursday, despite having what it said was a strong start to the current quarter. "You hear a cautious tone from us because we've had some false starts," Chief Executive Shelley Simpson said. "A lot has been outside of our control." The company is trying to wait and see what customers are feeling and whether their forecasts are changing to get a better sense of demand after tariffs created uncertainty about outlooks in 2025. Shelley said customers have been optimistic in recent weeks, but J.B. Hunt is taking a "realist" approach.
