SMRT (KLSE:SMRT) signed a deal with startup consultancy firm Kuasa Aktif to formalize cooperation on technology research, enhancement, demonstration and potential commercial deployment.
The agreement allows SMRT to allocate up to 300,000 ringgit to support evaluation and development activities, according to a Friday Malaysian bourse filing.
SMRT said the collaboration builds on previously completed pilot projects and is aimed at strengthening its capabilities in industrial IoT, digital infrastructure, smart utilities and technology-enabled solutions.
The deal is non-exclusive and is not expected to have any material impact on its earnings.
