Walt Disney Company's (DIS) succession committee has met five times in the last fiscal year as it narrowed down on who will succeed chief executive Bob Iger, Bloomberg reported, citing a Thursday regulatory filing.

Disney reiterated plans to name a successor in early 2026, according to the filing.

Internal candidates are rigorously prepared for this process, including mentorship from Iger, external coaching, and engagement with all board members, the filing said.

Four divisional chiefs are in competition to succeed Iger, with parks chief Josh D'Amaro and co-chair of entertainment Dana Walden leading the race, Bloomberg said.

Walt Disney didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
