- Grain trader Archer-Daniels-Midland Company ADM.N has agreed to pay a $40 million civil penalty to settle charges from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that it inflated the performance of a key business segment.

- A recent deal by Canada to allow tens of thousands of inexpensive Chinese electric vehicles into the country is a risk to North American auto manufacturing, General Motors GM.N Chief Executive Mary Barra said.

- The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board found that a series of systemic failures by the Federal Aviation Administration led to a devastating mid-air collision that killed 67 people last year.
