0958 ET - Canada's unemployment rate has dropped from 7.1% to 6.8%, but it remains too high, Bank of Canada says. The economy has added about 190,000 jobs since August following two deep back-to-back monthly declines. Still, BOC says employment remains subdued in trade-exposed sectors, and job vacancies have fallen to their lowest level since late 2017. It also points to recent findings in the quarterly business-outlook survey, suggesting weak hiring intentions among firms. Most measures of wage growth "have converged below 3%," the BOC estimates.
