Deere plans to open two new facilities in the U.S. in the next year.

The farm-equipment manufacturer said Tuesday the facilities include a distribution center near Hebron, Ind. and an excavator factory in Kernersville, N.C.

The distribution center's central location aims to improve Deere's supply chain capabilities, allowing for timely delivery of equipment and parts, the company said. The project is expected to create about 150 jobs.

The company will maintain its primary North American Parts Distribution Center in Milan, Ill.

The new, $70 million factory, meanwhile, will produce excavators for the construction market that were previously produced in Japan, the company said. The facility will employ over 150 people and aims to help meet equipment demand.

The facilities are part of Deere's commitment to invest $20 billion in U.S. manufacturing over the next 10 years.
