Jan 29 (Reuters) - Australia's Whitehaven Coal reported a 13.5% rise in second-quarter output on Thursday, supported by higher production from its Queensland and New South Wales operations and buoyant coal prices.
The Sydney-headquartered firm reported managed run-of-mine $(ROM)$ coal production of 11 million metric tons for the three months ended December 31, compared with 9.7 million tons posted a year ago.
The results beat the Visible Alpha consensus estimate of 9.8 million tons.
