ABB Investor Concerns of Slowing Electrification Orders Were Unwarranted -- Market Talk

Dow Jones

0758 GMT - Investor concerns of slowing orders in ABB's electrification business were unwarranted in the fourth quarter, J.P. Morgan analysts say in a research note. The strong growth in the short-cycle electrification business is a positive for peers Siemens, Schneider Electric and Legrand, the analysts say. On a group level, the Swiss industrial-technology company's orders rose 32%, with China and Europe both up 25% and the U.S. up 57%. "In short, the growth outlook for 2026 is implicitly broader based and better than market expectations for ABB and, likely, the wider electricals subgroup," JPM says. Shares are expected to outperform in Thursday's trading, they add. (nina.kienle@wsj.com)
