Bill Winters, group chief executive of Standard Chartered, said 2026 can potentially be a "strong" year for China's economy, citing the country's exports, technological advances and moves toward stabilizing the property sector, Xinhua News reported Tuesday.

China's economy is "stable and predictable, energetic and forward-looking," Winters noted.

Winters said the bank's Chinese business is driven by cros-border activity amid Chinese companies' overseas expansion, the rise of technology enterprises and the renminbi's growing global role, Xinhua wrote.
