CME Group (CME) said Tuesday its average daily volume in January was 29.6 million contracts, a 15% increase from a year earlier.

The derivatives marketplace operator reported an ADV of 13.9 million interest rate contracts for the month, along with 7.3 million equity index contracts and 3.6 million energy contracts, the company said.

Average daily volume in metals rose 218% while cryptocurrency ADV increased 106% from the prior year, it said.
