Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI said Thursday it has launched Frontier, a platform that supports enterprises in building, deploying, and managing AI agents capable of executing complex tasks across the business.

The system provides agents with shared context and clear boundaries to help organizations move from isolated pilots to integrated AI coworkers, the company said.

Oracle (ORCL), Thermo Fisher (TMO), Uber (UBER), Intuit (INTU), and HP (HPQ) are among the first to adopt the technology, which seeks to close the gap between model intelligence and real-world deployment, the company added.

OpenAI said the platform integrates with existing data and applications to allow agents to reason over files and solve problems without requiring new software formats.

Frontier is currently available to a limited number of users and will expand to more customers over the next few months, the company said.
