Virgin Australia (ASX:VGN) said it will extend its partnership with the Australian Football League (AFL) through to 2030 as demand for AFL fan travel is expected to grow by double digits over the next five years, according to a Thursday statement by the airline.
Under the new agreement, Virgin Australia will fly all 19 AFL and AFL Women clubs across the country, including players, coaches, league officials and support staff.
The airline has also launched a sale for fans with fares starting from AU$49 one-way to the league's primary away game cities.
The company's shares fell nearly 1% in recent Thursday trade.
