Live Nation Entertainment's (LYV) settlement talks with the US Department of Justice are widening fractures inside the Trump administration over antitrust enforcement, Semafor reported Sunday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Executives of Live Nation and lobbyists have been negotiating with senior officials from the Justice Department outside its antitrust division to avert a trial over whether the ticketing giant is operating an illegal monopoly that has led to a hike in concert prices, the unnamed sources told the news outlet.

Some of those negotiations have sidelined antitrust chief Gail Slater, according to the report.

Live Nation and the DOJ didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
