Stellantis's Fiat Chrysler Automobiles U.S. has issued a "do not drive" warning for certain vehicles affected by air bag recalls.

The warning is for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram vehicles with open and unrepaired Takata air bag recalls, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Wednesday.

About 225,000 FCA vehicles are unrepaired in the U.S. Owners of those vehicles should not drive them until the repair is completed and the defective air bag is replaced, the NHTSA said.

More than 67 million Takata air bags have been recalled in vehicles across the U.S. The air bags have exploded, sometimes in minor crashes, injuring at least 400 people and killing 28, the NHTSA said.

Vehicle owners can visit the NHTSA's recall webpage to see if their car has an open Takata air bag recall. If it is under recall, owners can contact their dealership to schedule a free repair.

More than 6.6 million air bag inflators in FCA vehicles have already been replaced.
