American Airlines Group (AAL) Chief Executive Robert Isom is facing a unanimous no-confidence vote from the Association of Professional Flight Attendants' board, the labor union said Monday.

APFA, representing 28,000 flight attendants, says American Airlines has fallen far behind competitors and that management has been unwilling to change course.

The union said executive compensation, including Isom's, continued to rise despite post-pandemic losses and the airline's underperformance relative to competitors such as United (UAL), Delta (DAL), and Southwest (LUV).

"Performance, operational metrics, and the handling of irregular operations have worsened. All under Isom's leadership," it added.

The union said that repeated failures have already cost employees through reduced profit-sharing, wage concessions, and ongoing instability.

"The foundation we built in 2025, combined with our go-forward strategy, positions us to deliver sustainable growth and create long-term value for our customers, team members, and shareholders," Isom said on the Q4 earnings call, adding that the company is off to a great start based on January's booking trends.
