Tech stocks were higher late Monday afternoon, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) rising 1.7% and the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) adding 1%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index climbed 1.6%.

In corporate news, Microsoft (MSFT)-backed OpenAI said Monday it will test ads in ChatGPT in the US to support broader access to the AI chatbot's features. Microsoft shares were up nearly 3%.
