Maersk ordered eight large vessels from Chinese shipbuilder New Times Shipbuilding, slated for delivery in 2029 and 2030, according to a Monday press release by the Danish shipping company.
The vessels have a length of 366 meters and a breadth of 58.6 meters, more compact than the maximum container vessel length of 400 meters, according to Maersk.
Dual-fuel engines operating on conventional bunker fuel or liquefied gas will power Maersk's new vessels.
