1222 GMT - ABN Amro's strong dividend-per-share and distribution results could boost capital return expectations, UBS analysts Johan Ekblom and Joshua Humphreys write in a research note. The Dutch lender's capital optimization would be encouraging even without beneficial seasonal factors in the fourth quarter, they say. "The other area we think is key to today's result is the ongoing rightsizing of the cost base of the bank." The company posted a modest miss on consensus estimates for profit. Shares are down 1.1% at 30.65 euros. (william.gray@wsj.com)
