Malaysia Posts MYR9.6 Billion Net IIP Liabilities in Q4 2025

Malaysia's International Investment Position (IIP) recorded net liabilities of 9.6 billion ringgit as at the end of the fourth quarter of 2025, compared with net assets of 77.3 billion ringgit in the previous quarter, according to data released by the country's statistics department on Friday.

Total financial assets stood at 2.56 trillion ringgit, while liabilities were slightly higher at 2.57 trillion ringgit.

Malaysia's Direct Investment Abroad (DIA) declined to 587.4 billion ringgit from 615.8 billion ringgit in the third quarter. The services sector accounted for the largest share at 440.2 billion ringgit, followed by mining and quarrying at 67.6 billion ringgit, and agriculture at 43.7 billion ringgit, the data showed.

Meanwhile, the country's Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) position rose to 1.069 trillion ringgit at end-fourth quarter, from 1.021 trillion ringgit previously.
