NEW YORK, Feb 13 (Reuters) - A worker has died from injuries sustained in Monday's fire at Valero Energy's VLO.N Ardmore oil refinery in Oklahoma, contractor UPS Industrial Services said on Friday.

A fire erupted at Valero's 86,000 barrel-per-day Ardmore refinery in Oklahoma on Monday, sending five people to hospital.

Jesse Cole Biscamp of Kirbyville, Texas, who was airlifted to a burn unit hospital, later died from injuries sustained in the fire, local media KXII reported on Thursday.

The incident occurred during maintenance at the Ardmore refinery and involved UPS Industrial Services employees, the company said on Friday.

"It is with deep sadness that UPSIS confirms that one of our employees has passed away as a result of injuries sustained in the incident," Craig Andrews, vice president of UPS Industrial Services, said in a statement on Friday.

Industrial Services is cooperating with Valero and authorities, and an investigation into the incident is active, Andrews said.

Valero referred a request for comment to UPS Industrial Services.
