Chilwa Minerals (ASX:CHW) said it held meetings with Mota-Engil during the Investing in African Mining Indaba in South Africa regarding the proposed Liwonde Dry Port development in Malawi, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.

Its chairman and managing director were invited to talks facilitated by the Business Council for International Understanding as part of the US government's efforts to support critical minerals projects in Sub-Saharan Africa, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.

It also held talks with the US International Development Finance Corporation, the US Trade and Development Agency, and the African Finance Corporation to explore potential areas of cooperation and support for its project development activities.
