Dongfeng Motor Group's (HKG:0489) electric vehicle unit, Voyah Automotive Technology (HKG:7489), had applied for the listing of nearly 885.4 million shares on the Hong Kong stock exchange, according to a Thursday filing with the city's bourse.

The development comes after Dongfeng Motor said it had met all the preconditions for its proposed privatization by its parent through a merger by absorption.

The firm's parent is spinning off and listing Voyah Automotive under the privatization plan and distributing HK$6.68 in cash and 0.3552608 Voyah H share for each Dongfeng H share.

According to Voyah, trading in its shares will begin on March 19 under the stock code 7489.
